PPC Audit Services That Find The Wasted Spend

PPC Audit Services That Find The Wasted Spend2026-09-17T23:48:41+00:00

A PPC audit that tells you where the money is actually going

You can usually feel that an ad account is underperforming long before you can prove it. Spend is steady, the agency report is full of green arrows, and yet the phone is not busier. The problem is that almost every number in a paid account can be made to look fine in isolation.

A PPC audit is a fixed fee, outside read on the whole account. We check whether a conversion is really a lead, where the search terms are leaking, what the structure is preventing the bidding from doing, and whether the landing pages are wasting clicks you already bought. You get a prioritized list of fixes with what each one is worth, whether or not you hire us to do them.

Auditing a paid search account for wasted spend

Six things the audit covers

Every item comes back with a finding, an estimated impact and a priority, not a checkbox.

Conversion Tracking Integrity

The first and most important check. Does a recorded conversion correspond to something a human would call a lead, and do the counts reconcile with your inbox and CRM.

  • Every conversion action verified
  • Counts reconciled to real leads
  • Duplicate and inflated events found

Account Structure

Whether campaigns are split in a way that lets bidding work, or whether high margin services are being averaged against low value ones inside the same budget.

  • Intent and margin separation
  • Budget cannibalization checked
  • Geography and schedule reviewed

Search Terms And Waste

The report nobody opens. We read the last ninety days, quantify what was spent on terms that could never convert, and hand you the negative list.

  • Ninety days of terms read
  • Waste quantified in dollars
  • Negative list handed over

Bidding And Budget

Whether the bid strategy suits the data volume, whether targets are set against real lead value, and whether budget caps are quietly throttling the campaigns that work.

  • Strategy matched to volume
  • Targets checked against value
  • Throttled campaigns identified

Ads And Landing Pages

Message match between keyword, ad and page, extension coverage, and the conversion path on the pages the money is pointing at.

  • Message match scored
  • Extension coverage checked
  • Page conversion path reviewed

Prioritized Fix List

Everything ranked by likely impact against effort, so you can see what to do first, what to do later, and what genuinely does not matter.

  • Ranked by impact
  • Effort estimated honestly
  • Yours to keep either way

What a PPC audit should and should not be

Most free audits are sales documents. Here is what we actually do.

Working through a prioritized list of PPC account fixes

It starts with whether the data is real

We check conversion actions before anything else, because every other finding depends on them. A meaningful share of the accounts we audit are counting page views, button clicks or duplicate events as conversions. When that is true, the optimization history of the account was built on fiction and the fix list starts there.

We quantify waste in dollars, not adjectives

Saying an account has poor negative keyword coverage is not useful. Saying the account spent 4,300 over ninety days on search terms that could not convert, here they are, is. Every finding comes with a number where a number is possible.

Read only access, no changes

The audit is diagnostic. We take read only access, we do not touch the account, and we do not need your current agency removed to do it. What you do with the findings afterward is your decision.

It is a fixed fee, and you keep it

No free audit that is really a pitch deck. A flat price, a written document, a walkthrough call, and the whole thing is yours whether you hire us, hand it to your existing agency, or do it in house.

We will tell you when the account is fine

Sometimes the paid account is well run and the problem is the offer, the follow up speed or the website. That is a legitimate audit outcome and we would rather say it than sell you management you do not need.

Then you decide about the fixes

If you want us to implement, the audit fee comes off the first month of management. If you want to keep your current setup and just fix the list, that is genuinely fine and we will answer questions about it.

Why clients stay with us

We are a small team on purpose. The person reading your account is an owner, not a junior with a checklist tool.

  • The audit is done by an owner, not generated by software
  • Fixed fee, and the document is yours whichever way you go
  • 40+ years of combined experience across paid search, SEO and web
  • Read only access, nothing changed without your say so
  • No long term contract attached to the audit

Clients across the country, and the reviews to back it up

Every review is from a real client and every pin is a real market. We are based in Las Vegas and we run campaigns for clients in cities all over the country. The signals search engines read are the same everywhere, so the playbook travels.

Frequently asked questions about PPC audits

The things people ask on the first call, answered before you make it.

A flat fee based on account size and the number of platforms, typically between 750 and 2,000. If you go on to hire us for management, the audit fee comes off your first month.
Roughly one to two weeks from the day we get access, including the walkthrough call. Larger multi platform accounts take longer because the search terms review is done by hand.
No. We take read only access, which does not disturb their management access at all. Whether you tell them is up to you.
No. Several audits end with us saying the account is competently run and the real constraint is the offer, the landing pages or how fast leads get called. That answer is worth more than a management proposal you did not need.
A written document with findings, dollar figures where they apply, a negative keyword list, a prioritized fix list with effort estimates, and a recorded walkthrough call. All of it is yours to keep and to share.
Yes, and some clients do exactly that. The document is written to be handed to whoever is doing the work, including an in house team.
Google Ads and Microsoft Ads as standard. Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube can be included if they are a meaningful share of spend.
An outside read once a year is healthy for any account spending seriously, and immediately if performance has drifted, the account changed hands, or nobody can explain what a conversion in the account represents.
Occasionally, and mostly it is a sales call with a screenshot. If a free audit does not include a search terms review and a check of every conversion action, it has not looked at the two places the money hides.
